About the role:

Reporting directly into the Treasury Manager, the Senior Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting the Finance and Treasury business strategies by delivering technical accounting advice on financial instruments, providing financial reporting services, and monitoring and managing compliance reporting obligations under Ampol’s financing facilities.

This is a Sydney based role, offering some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accounting services to Treasury including month-end reporting and inputting of monthly Treasury Reports to Board
Supporting the Treasury Analyst as required by managing and performing Middle Office authorisations for daily funding and settlements of money market, foreign exchange, derivatives, bonds, interest, facility fees and dividends
Managing banking relationships and addressing queries and requirements as they arise
Updating and monitoring of Treasury budgets/forecasts performance throughout the year
Providing advice and drafting proposals outlining accounting impact of various Treasury activities
Perform mark-to-market valuations for financial instruments and preparation of Treasury statutory reporting and commentary analysis for the Group’s financial instruments note
Communicating with auditors and responding to internal and external audit requests
Support the control structures within Treasury by ensuring flowcharts and manuals of Treasury process flows are updated and monitored
Update and monitor static data changes in Treasury Management System (e.g. facility amendments, new counterparties)
Support the continuous improvement of governance of the reporting through the development of system-based reports
Continuously improve policies, reports and processes including automation

About you:

You enjoy working in an ever changing and fast paced corporate environment and will bring well-honed relationship and stakeholder management skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to proactive investigation and have a continuous improvement mindset.

You will hold a Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance and be CA/CPA qualified or in final stages of completing. Previous Treasury experience and/or demonstration of experience in a Finance related role using accounting controls and financial systems is essential. SAP experience would be advantageous.
