About the Division

The Advice Chief Risk Officer (Advice CRO) Team is part of AMP’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Function. ERM is the Second Line Risk function in AMP’s Three Lines model. The Advice CRO Team is the dedicated Second Line Risk team supporting the AMP Australia (AMPA) Advice Business.

The Advice CRO Team partners with the Advice First Line (Risk and Business) to provide challenge, oversight, and risk management subject matter expertise across all business activities.

The Advice CRO Team also partners with the Third Line Internal Audit Function on all aspects of the Advice business activities



Purpose of the role

With your exceptional subject matter expertise, you will provide leadership and consistency in the delivery of governance and reporting responsibilities within the Advice business as part of the Advice CRO Team. The role will require proactive engagement with the First Line Team (Risk and Business) in driving and managing governance related initiatives.



The key focus of the role is to deliver on all aspects of the secretariat responsibilities input to governance committees across the Advice business; Advice Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC); Advice Financial Risk and Capital Committee (AFRCC); Licensee Advice Investment Committee (LAIC); and The Licensee Buy-Back Oversight Committee (BBOC).



You will facilitate the implementation of relevant Group frameworks as well as provide input into risk management tools on ERM related requirements (e.g. GRC system)



More specifically your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Coordinating Advice related risk reporting covering the Advice business across various committees
Ensuring alignment and consistency in reporting across First Line and Second Line risk functions as well as tracking key insights and actions which are derived through reporting.
With your exceptional ability in building trust and credibility with senior leadership and peers what we also look for in you is:

Previous experience working in a Governance function and providing secretariat support is essential
Governance and Reporting professional, with a proven track record of managing committees in a complex Financial Services environment, ideally within Financial Advice
Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring governance frameworks
Track record of driving efficient and effective operational processes to support end-to-end decision making
Member of the Governance Institute of Australia
Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe experience


You will be an exceptional influencer, negotiator with superior communications. Utilising your advanced report writing skills and your ability to provide insights through data analytics will enable you to be a result focused and problem solver. Essential to the role is your presentation skills (Board paper and PowerPoint).

What we also look for is your ability in leading and coaching a small to medium team particularly in the agile and changing environment. Delivery of quality outcomes within allocated priorities and timeframes is essential.
