Job Description

About the PositionWe currently have an opportunity available for a Group Compliance Officer to join our Compliance & Risk team based at our head office in Brisbane. The Compliance & Risk team engages with the business to ensure adequate controls are in place for the management of Group-wide risks, including compliance risks, and that these are managed within our overall governance framework. Working directly with the Group Compliance & Risk Manager, this role assists in embedding the desired compliance culture into organisational decision making and specifically includes:Ensuring global compliance initiatives and programs are consistently implemented across the ALS Group, particularly in relation to anti-bribery, trade sanctions, privacy and data protection, and modern slavery.Recommending and developing fit-for-purpose compliance policies, procedures, processes and training programs to raise awareness of compliance obligations and controls to manage new compliance risks.Researching international best practice and regulatory guidance to drive continuous improvement of existing compliance frameworks.Facilitating scenario-based business resilience workshops to management teams to raise aware of compliance obligations and expected standards of behaviour.Conducting compliance risk assessments in relation to high-risk jurisdictions and third parties.Coordinating and conducting internal investigations into compliance issues and allegations of misconduct, including compiling investigation reports.Undertaking compliance risk assurance activities as required.Drafting management reports as requested. About youYou are a hard-working, reliable and motivated individual who is both a team player and can work independently as required, and demonstrates the following:Bachelor's degree or graduate qualification in a related field.Minimum 2 years' experience in a legal, compliance or risk function within a global organisation, preferably in the technical services or resource sectors.Proficiency in corporate governance and the establishment of compliance frameworks.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
