The Pharmacy Department at the Townsville University Hospital is seeking Pharmacists with varied experience to fill future vacancies. Future roles to be filled through this recruitment process may be of a full-time, part-time or casual nature. Minimum mandatory requirement of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Pharmacy providing eligibility for practicing membership to Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
About the Pharmacy Department
The aim of the Pharmacy service is to provide responsible, safe, effective and economical distribution and use of medications throughout the hospital.
Townsville hospital Pharmacy has 2 locations:
The ground floor Main Pharmacy is located to the left, inside the main entrance to the hospital. This is where discharge, outpatient's prescriptions and food orders are presented and collected after dispensing. This location is open on weekends and public holidays for inpatient service only.
The Pharmacy Distribution Centre is located on the first floor near medical records and is only accessible to staff for collection of ward imprest items or inpatient dispensed medications.

Roles that have a direct contact with patients or who in the course of their work may be exposed to blood/body fluids or contaminated sharps are required to be immunised for Hepatitis B.
Roles that have contact that would allow acquisition and/or transmission of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella or pertussis, and have face to face contact with patients and/or work in a clinical area require evidence of immunisation of the aforementioned diseases.
