The Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait are recognised as two of the most spectacular and culturally important regions in Queensland. Working in the Torres and Cape region gives medical officers the opportunity of a relaxed lifestyle in some of the most beautiful natural environments of this remarkable ‘corner' of Australia.
As a member of a dynamic health care team that provides quality and culturally appropriate medical services, make a significant contribution to improving the health of the local population in and around our many diverse communities.
Depending on the AST skills that you may bring to the role, along with your general practitioner function you could also be involved in providing specialist services in anaesthesia, obstetrics and gynaecology, indigenous health, and/or emergency services at any of our main facilities (Weipa, Cooktown, Thursday Island or Bamaga).

To be successful in this role you will have:
-Competence and capability in primary rural medical practice (hospital-based practice and/or primary health) and in the relevant advanced skill(s) if appointed as a Rural Generalist or Provisional Fellow.
-Demonstrated skill in trauma management, general and emergency medicine.

-Remuneration range between $11,405-$15,312 p.f. (plus on calls, recalls and overtime) comprising salary between $5,964-$8,237 p.f. (L13-L25)
-Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)
-Salary packaging option

Requirements for the role:
-Hold registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medial Board of Australia.
-Undergo undergo the credentialing and scope of clinical practice process in accordance with TCHHS policy.
