About the role We are looking for a dedicated Cleaner to join our Residential Care team at The Pines located in North Plympton. To work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking general cleaning for the provision of high quality services. Work in a safe and inclusive manner that reflects Southern Cross Care Better for life model to provide person centred care and support. This role involves removing rubbish, maintaining hygiene, dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning wet areas and mopping, sweeping and vacuuming floors. For further details regarding the scope of the role, please refer to the attached position descriptions. About you Previous experience in a cleaning role will be essential. Adequate communication skills with a level of English literacy to speak in a manner that older people can understand and to be able to read written instructions. Time management to manage own workload, without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time. Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and also basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards will be highly regarded. All Southern Cross Care employees also require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care.
