An exciting opportunity is available for a Tutor/Lecturer (Production Animal and Farm Management Consultancy) to join the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne. This is an exciting time to join the Faculty as we build a highly engaged, driven and passionate team.
This position is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 3 years.
About the role:
The Tutor/Lecturer (Production Animal and Farm Management Consultancy) will form part of a multi-disciplinary team providing clinical and farm consultancy services under the Mackinnon Project banner within the Production Animals area at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at Werribee.
The position will be responsible for the provision of whole farm consultancy advice to clients of the Mackinnon Project, either under supervision or independently after a short mentoring period, subject to the appropriate level. The Tutor/Lecturer (Production Animal and Farm Management Consultancy) will also undertake research, farmer education activities and clinical services (veterinary appointees) that are a core part of the Mackinnon work program and the Faculty’s engagement with the livestock sector of Victorian and Australian agriculture.
The position will also be responsible for the provision of quality teaching of veterinary students as part of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, including the use of materials sourced from their consultancy activities.
