Job Description

Well established name in the Market Research Industry Melbourne CBD Location Fast and Dynamic Environment Roy Morgan is Australia’s most reputable and longest established market research and data company, with an unparalleled reputation for reliable, accurate, meaningful, revealing market research. At the forefront of data and research innovation since 1941, today Roy Morgan continues to provide accurate and independent information insights to leading Australian and international companies, as well as partnering with these same companies on bespoke data applications and technology development. Highly respected as one of Australia’s important business leaders, and constantly in demand as a speaker at conferences, in boardrooms and by governments and the media, our Chief Executive Officer has now been at the helm of Roy Morgan for 20 years. With a particular interest in the arts, as well as sitting on the Boards of several organizations, our CEO is responsible for enhancing the company’s enviable reputation in Australia and its expansion internationally. To enable this, we are looking for an Executive Assistant to support and facilitate our CEO, someone who preferably has an interest or experience in our industry sector, along with high level administrative and communication skills. The Role: The Executive Assistant is responsible for the smooth running of the office of the CEO, contributes structure and process of interactions so that the CEO office is able to function effectively and make high-quality decisions. It is about being a facilitator and an enabler. Our CEO is expected to hit the ground running every day, and so the Executive Assistants' role is to ensure that she is able to do that. This role plays an active part in organising almost every aspect of life for our CEO and is a balancing act: knowing how and when to deal with issues as well as when to give people access, and ensuring our CEO is adequately briefed and prepared for every meeting she attends.  Our CEO is most often dealing with a lot of competing priorities, and so the Executive Assistant must have an understanding of what our CEO does and the importance and nature of the business in order to assist with those priorities. Being constantly flexible and ready to reassess priorities as changes appear in the CEO’s schedule, the Executive Assistant as the first point of contact for the CEO is able to establish where the priorities are. This is a rare opportunity for either a skilled Executive Assistant or Project Administrator from within the sector, or even a recent Psychology graduate with a previous work history offering strong administrative skills who is passionate about working within a dynamic and high-performing organization. To succeed at this role you will need to have the following essential attributes and experience: Essential Attributes: Resilient and enjoys collaboratively working within an entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and high-profile. A problem solving-orientation and forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities, proposes solutions, and thrives on continuous improvement Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to plan, perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail A high level of tact, people skills and ability to maintain confidence. Ability to adapt to ambiguity and changing situations quickly Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment A perfect command of the English language with excellent grammar Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders including clients, media, the Executive team, and all other Roy Morgan staff. Ability to develop and maintain an harmonious rapport based on mutual trust and respect A naturally welcoming and optimistic disposition Essential Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Business Administration or Executive Assistance in a fast and dynamic environment. Formal Tertiary qualifications, and if possible some knowledge of and interest in Market Research and the sector. Track record of successful roles, assignments or projects Full comprehension of efficient office management systems and procedures. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite. If this sounds like your next step and you also meet the criteria, we would love to hear from you. Apply now!
