As a part of the Corporate Affairs team, sitting within Audience and Marketing, you’ll work with a diverse range of stakeholders across our REA Insights, PropTrack, Sales, Data Services and Data Science teams – just to name a few!What the role is all about:As Senior Economist, the objective of this role is to provide thought leadership and external positioning of REA Group as Australia’s leading commentator on the property market and related matters. In doing so, you will have access to REA Group’s rich property and behavioural data sets, overlayed with external data to create powerful narratives targeting key stakeholders. This presents an exciting opportunity to also build your own professional profile representing REA amongst business, customer, industry, government and media stakeholder groups. You will support internal stakeholders with research, content and advice while also being responsible for delivering a program of work to support the growth of our REA Insights brand and PropTrack business.Day to day, you can expect to: Actively drive the REA Economic Reports and Insights strategy, transforming data into relevant thought leadership pieces / content / presentations / webcasts / media materials. Working in close association with our head of economic research, apply frontier thinking to help shape debate and drive an evidence-based program of trends within Australia’s property industry. Working with the Corporate Affairs team, deliver commentary to position REA Group as an industry thought leader and key external media commentator. What we’re looking for… A true collaborator who understands the power of working as a cross-functional team An understanding of the machinations of the Australian property market You are a senior economist with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor research and communication to business, media, academic, industry and government audiences. Experience with quantitative research/analysis with focus across the property industry and strong problem-solving and analytical skills preferred. Knowledge of advanced economics relevant to conducting research studies and identifying challenges/issues and applying theoretical and empirical economic techniques advantageous. A Background in economics, econometrics, property economics, statistics or finance Excellent interpersonal & influencing skills, someone who builds trusted partnerships with a wide range of influential internal and external stakeholders.
