Job Description

About the position The Merchandise Planner is responsible for planning, forecasting and executing demand and fulfilment requirements within a designated category, ensuring sales, service levels and inventory targets are achieved. Reporting into our General Manager Merchandise, in this role you will be part of a team who is focused on delivering the best outcome for our customers and showrooms through planning and stock replenishment. To be successful in this roleExperience in retail merchandise Planning and Analysis, Inventory Management or equivalent in a medium to large retailer or furniture business (desirable not essential)Strength in interpretation/analysis of data coupled with demonstrated problem solving abilitiesExcellent time management and prioritisation with the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlinesReview forecast accuracy and report exceptions providing insight and recommendations to the General Manager Merchandising to improve forecast accuracy.Excellent stakeholder engagement, with strong communication skills and an ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersManage in-stock position of all core SKUS and forecasting reorder units in a timely manner to maximise sales and profitability, preventing any out-of-stock situations Manage the level of all discontinued lines to ensure the systems are updated immediatelySkills and ExperienceIdeally, minimum of 3 years’ experience in merchandise and supply planning. Furniture industry experience would be an advantageCommercially astute and strategic thinkerAbility to work under pressure in a constantly changing environmentTeam work with the ability to work with and influence other functions through effective communication skills Advanced Excel skills are essential with excellent statistical, numeric and analytical skillsNick Scali creates style and comfort at a price that is unsurpassed.
