Job Description

The RoleAs an Engineering professional within Navy Army Aviation Program Office (NA3PO), you will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes within an integrated work environment.You will be required under limited direction to perform and provide detailed complex engineering technical and professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning program and project management and policy development. You will be accountable to ensure you remain up to date with legislative frameworks and government decision-making requirements to ensure compliance is maintained within these frameworks. You will provide advice and recommendations on the development of advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.You will engage and liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult engineering issues and will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve NA3PO and Defence outcomes.About our TeamNA3PO was established in 2019 as the primary acquisition agency supporting both Army Aviation Systems (AAS) and Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons (NATC) branches within the Rotary, Aerospace and Surveillance Systems Division (RASSD). We manage and deliver the acquisition of high value and complex military rotary wing, tactical unmanned aerial systems, pilot and aircrew training systems for the ADF.NA3PO aims to leverage the advantages of a consolidated organisation to improve cross service collaboration and integration between Navy, Army and Air Force Programs and realise functional efficiencies through streamlined processes and practices in support of capability delivery as projects proceed through their life cycle.NA3PO has a high performing culture and successful candidates can expect to be challenged in their role. You will have demonstrated experience in engineering management. You will be equipped with engineering skills applicable to the acquisition and sustainment of platforms throughout the project life cycle. You will be able to demonstrate and apply technical knowledge and experience to develop and review design and maintenance packages, identify risks and appropriate mitigations, provide advice for planning and provide recommendations to decision makers.You will exercise good judgement, demonstrate initiative and have a focus on continuous improvement. You will have a strong background in demonstrating professional initiative and judgement in order to operate with little oversight and effectively manage a number of dynamic, competing priorities.
