We expect a lot, but we give a lot in return. We recognise and reward exceptional work. Oaky Creek North Mine is seeking an Underground Coal Mine Geologist to join our Technical Services Department. The primary responsibilities of the role is to provide geological technical support to the Technical Services team and operational departments. The role requires a diligent and conscientious individual who will be a key member of the team. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the effective and consistent planning, development of Hazard Management Plans and audits / mapping of mined areas, and the identification of geological hazards to ensure the on-going safe operations. You will undertake technical and planning tasks inter-relating to coal quality, gas drainage, ventilation and strata control. Additionally, you will be responsible for the Development and Longwall permits to mine. To secure this role, you will hold a Bachelor of Science (Geology major) or other related tertiary qualifications, and have experience in using computer based geological mapping tools and other proprietary software including Autocad, Aquire and MinEx and MS Office based programmes. You will be results-driven with a record of improving systems and maintaining a safe working environment. Experience in coal mining is necessary. Roster is negotiable. The local town of Tieri has an exceptional standard of living and a vast array of facilities for adults and children.
