Qualified Sonographers only need apply.</u></b><br /> <br /> <strong>1 permanent Sonographer / Radiographer position&nbsp;exists at the Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging Department</strong><br /> <br /> The successful applicant will participate in a 7 day rotating roster working primarily within the Ultrasound section, including some call and occasional weekend shifts. (U/S weekend shifts have not yet been implemented but are planned for the future.) Current shift commencement times are between 0800 and 1000.<br /> <br /> A qualification in Radiography (current registration and licence) is essential for payment under the MRS award. For WH&amp;S we occasionally roster Sonographers to break up ultrasound duties with a few hours of radiography.<br /> <br /> A wide range of ultrasound examinations are performed daily with a high demand for general abdominal, urologic, small parts and paediatric assessments. Some vascular and musculo-skeletal examinations are also performed. Prior experience in paediatrics is an advantage.<br /> <br /> The successful applicant would be required to participate in training and quality assurance programmes.<br /> <br /> This campus is one of the largest in Australia. It is affiliated with the University of NSW and is a major tertiary referral centre. The Prince of Wales Medical Imaging Department is located on the Randwick Campus and provides services to POWH, Sydney Children&#39;s Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women, and the War Memorial Hospital.<br /> <br /> <strong>Where you&#39;ll be working</strong><br /> Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging Department<br /> <br /> <strong>What you&#39;ll be doing</strong></p> <p style="font-family: Arial;">The vision for&nbsp;South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is&nbsp;<em><strong>&lsquo;exceptional care, healthier lives&rsquo;.&nbsp;</strong></em>SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial;"><br /> &bull; The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the clinical operation of the ultrasound and radiography section, development of qualified and trainee sonographer/radiographer and registrars, and clinical support as well as the efficient and effective utilisation of resources of the section.<br /> &bull; The incumbent also responsible for high quality sonographic and radiographic services to patients and our referring clinicians<br /> &bull; The incumbent is responsible for provision of support to the senior radiographer in assessment, provision and delivery of education and clinical training for the qualified radiographers in radiography service. In addition, they are responsible for the co-ordination and service delivery of the section he/she is rostered to.<br /> &bull; The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating both clinical and general management of the section as requested by the Senior Sonographer, Senior Radiographers and the Chief Radiographer.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> &bull; The incumbent may be called on in assisting the senior radiographers/sonographer to run the section.<br /> &bull; The incumbent is responsible to direct radiographic and ultrasound operation and prioritise the services within a multidisciplinary working environment.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;</p> </div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"> <ol> <li>Holder of Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography or equivalent.</li> <li>Hold current ASAR registration and accreditation.</li> <li>Demonstrated extensive experience in Paediatric, musculo-skeletal, small part and general sonography.</li> <li>Demonstrated use of effective communication skills, ability to provide a quality service to all levels of personnel and customers.</li> <li>Demonstrate ability to train and teach trainee Sonographer/ Radiographer.</li> <li>Demonstrate clinical reasoning skills in the performance of sonographic procedures.</li> <li>Possession of registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for Medical Radiation Practice Board Possession of registration as Medical Radiation Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.</li> <li>Possess the appropriate E.P.A.
