Job Description

<ul><li>3-year full-time contract available</li><li>Salary starting from $85,488 pa + super</li><li>Position located in either Parramatta, Hornsby, Cronulla, or Windsor</li></ul><p><br><a href="https://www.scs.nsw.gov.au/">Soil Conservation Service</a> (SCS) is looking for an experienced Projects Supervisor to undertake the delivery of two natural area management portfolio areas - grounds maintenance and bushfire risk mitigation services - for public and private sector clients.<br><br>With a combination of both office and fieldwork, and leading a small team of field staff and contractors you will manage both the SCS Mowing Program (grounds maintenance) and the Asset Protection Zone Program (bushfire risk mitigation works), located primarily within metropolitan Sydney – however with some works towards Newcastle / Illawarra / Blue Mountains). <br><br>Your duties will include:</p><ul><li>Management of SCS field staff</li><li>Contractor management including management of non-compliance </li><li>Auditing contractor and sub-contractor performance – WHS, Environmental and Quality</li><li>Undertaking procurement for on ground works</li><li>Detailed tracking of project progress and planning of new and ad-hoc works</li><li>Data management for scheduling and reporting</li><li>Preparation and revision of contracts and tender documentation</li><li>Liaison and engagement with stakeholders including the Rural Fire Service and other public and private sector commercial clients.</li></ul><p><strong><br>About You:<br></strong>To be successful you’ll need demonstrated project management experience (including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration) combined with practical working knowledge in the design and implementation of natural area management and grounds maintenance works.<br><br>You’ll have strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work autonomously, assess and prioritise tasks in a changing environment and be able to attend to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.<br><br>You’ll also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high level of computer literacy including MS Office applications – particularly MS Excel.<br><br>A current class C Drivers’ License with a willingness to travel throughout the Sydney metro region and other locations throughout NSW as needed is also a requirement of the role.<br><br>A comprehensive understanding of environmental principles and legislation and Bushfire risk mitigation experience – APZ establishment and maintenance – would also be ideal.<br><br><strong><em>Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake a health assessment as part of their pre-employment conditions before an offer on employment can be made.<br><br></em></strong><strong>How to Apply:<br></strong>If this role sounds ideal to you, please apply via our online portal by submitting your resume and a brief cover letter outlining how your skills and experience match what we are looking for.
