The Role Incitec Pivot Fertilisers is seeking an experienced agronomist or soil/nutrition scientist to join our team to help modernise and deliver our key training program (Agronomy in Practice and NA Pro) and our product training and accreditation programs. This role will appeal to an individual with an interest in the adoption of innovative products and services, plant nutrition, and decision support systems. The training and development manager will have extensive experience in soil and plant diagnostics, an ability to communicate complex information simply, and an understanding of statistics and data interpretation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse company supporting farmers – from tropical fruit growers in north Queensland to dairy producers in Tasmania. You will gain valuable experience, expand your network and further your knowledge of plant diagnostics and fertiliser recommendations. In addition, you will be responsible for: Building and maintaining relationships with farmers, agronomists, consultants, industry bodies and government Engaging with key partners to develop solutions Delivering Agronomy in Practice training and the Fertcare accredited advisor program Maintaining and developing the decision support platforms Maintaining of Fertcare accreditation for Nutrient Advantage Ensuring the fertiliser decision rules are compliant with regulations Providing industry leadership and promotion of evidence-based agriculture and the Nutrient Advantage laboratory About You Reporting to the Director of Agronomy and Ideation, you will have at least 10 years’ experience in a commercial, institutional, government research teaching, development or extension role. To be successful in this role you will also have: Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture Ability to travel regularly Experience delivering training programs Understanding of plant nutrition and soil science Experience with scientific writing Excellent communication and presentation skills Competence in statistical interpretation and analysis; and using Microsoft Office suite This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a challenging role within an organisation that supports your career, growth and development.
