Job Description

The Role The Submarine Division is seeking a talented and experienced national security professional to perform the role of an EL1 Security Manager within the Submarine Division’s head office located in Russell Offices Canberra, and work as part of a team to ensure that the current and future Submarine capabilities are secure. Reporting to the Division’s Business Director, the Security Manager leads a team of Security Advisers in Canberra and provides professional guidance, as required, to Division Security Advisers in South Australia, Western Australia, and France. The Security Manager will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. The Security Manager will develop and maintain close links with a range of other Defence and defence industry security partners both domestic and international. The Security Manager will manage a Secure Compartmented Information Facility therefore a Positive Vetting security clearance is required for this aspect of the role. About our Team Led by General Manager Submarines, Submarine Division contributes to the defence of Australia by working with Navy and Industry counterparts in a submarine enterprise. Together our focus is ‘to ensure that Australia has an enduring and potent submarine capability’. Submarines are an essential part of Australia’s naval capability. Our Navy’s submariners depend on us to deliver operationally superior and safe submarines so they can defend our shores. Submarine Division is made up of an integrated workforce, comprising Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force, and industry secondees. The workforce has a presence in Canberra (ACT), Adelaide (SA), HMAS Stirling (WA), Cherbourg (France) and Washington (USA).
