Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities Wood has an immediate requirement for a Financial Accountant to join our team based in Perth. In this role you will work to ensure all accounting activities under your remit are completed accurately and within agreed time-frames, providing quality support to assist the business to maximise their partnering activities and service our clients effectively. You will undertake reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders and the finance team accross Australia. Additionally, financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets and reporting to local functions, together with approval of balance sheet reconciliations each month. You will be involved in co-ordination and posting of regional allocations including corporate areas of responsiblity such as IT, Insurance, Real Estate Services, Management and License Fees. Forging strong working relationships you will work effectively with Internal and External Auditors, Group Functions and Functional Leads, Finance Teams and Shared Services. Accountabilities and responsibilities of the role will include: Ensure that all accounting entries are prepared accurately and in line with corporate deadlines Responsible for accurately recording and reporting all items below the Gross Profit level for various entities, Ensure results are accurately reported and analyzed Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, BAS and Government surveys Focal/first point of contact for all matters relating to Finance Shared Centre (FSC) Preparation of annual plan and quarterly reforecast in conjunction with Business Management and Finance team Responsibility for compliance with Financial management Framework within the individual's sphere of control Support Project accountants with cash collection, optimization of DSO and minimization of unbilled items together with ensuring these balance sheet areas are appropriately reconciled, analyzed and controlled Work with FSC to ensure smooth and accurate processes between Local office and FSC Liaising with external, internal and client auditors Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required Please note at this time we will only accept applications from Australian citizens or those who have secured Australian Permanent Residency (PR) and have full working rights for the region in place. Skills / Qualifications We are looking for a strong financial professional with a minimum of 1 years recent relevant accounting experience. Further eduction through College or University with a recognised accounting qualification Preferably working toward CIMA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent. Knowledge, skills and experience: 1 - 2 years accounting experience Proficient user of Excel People supervision skills Good commercial knowledge Good systems experience (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion, Vision) Personal attributes: A committment to safety in the workplace Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships Shows willingness to make improvements and shares best practice Must be able to meet deadlines Ability to work well in a team and independently Good communication skills both verbal and written Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
