The role of the First Nations Boarding and Academic Support Tutor is to assist students during evening study sessions in the Boarding House and be involved in all aspects of the First Nations Program. The aim being to improve academic achievement with an emphasis on a cultural safety and enabling the students to be the best person they can be.The tutor will work one-to-one or in small groups with First Nations Students across all year groups (Years 7-12). The tutor will provide homework support, ongoing curriculum support and facilitate study skills. They will need to work closely with the First Nations Coordinator, Heads of Division, Boarding Supervisors and the Learning Enrichment team.Applicants need to be reliable, motivated, flexible and have a good work ethic. Applicants should enjoy working with children and have a special interest in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education. This is an ideal position for a current university student or student studying Bachelor of Education or Teaching.
