Eligibility: Open to Everyone The SAHousing Authority has multiple term and ongoing opportunities forthe roles of Access Worker and Housing Officer at the ASO4classification level. The AccessWorker is accountable for providing information and advice tocustomers on their housing options and assessing eligibility forclients to access crisis and supported accommodation, socialhousing and private rental assistance. It is also responsible inengaging people and clients with more complex and/or diverse needsto assist them to access appropriate social housing, homelessnessand other services to meet their needs. As well as conductingappropriate housing needs based assessments and other risk andvulnerability assessments, to enable clients’ access toappropriate social housing and private rental services and to putin place or monitor any necessary safeguards identified and/orrequired. The HousingOfficer is accountable for providing clients with information,referral, advocacy, client management and tenancy managementservices. It is also responsible for identifying andresponding to the cultural and specific needs of Aboriginalclients, providing advocacy and referral services to clients andundertaking tenancy management of social rental housingproperties. SpecialConditions Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Clearance prior to being employed. Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a DHS Screening Unit Working with Children Check prior to being employed and every 5 years. Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a DHS Screening Unit Vulnerable Persons Check prior to being employed and every 3 years. The successful applicant may be required to hold a current Australian issued Drivers Licence, which must be maintained. Some out of hours work may be required upon activation of the Emergency Relief Functional Support Group. Appointment will be to a specific Region within SA Housing Authority with possible movement to any other Region depending on organisational needs. The incumbent may be assigned to any other area to perform work of a similar nature appropriate to the classification on a temporary or continuing basis. The incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse under the Children’s Protection Act 1993.
