In the role of HSW Systems and Compliance Lead you will develop and maintain effective HSW systems, frameworks and processes to ensure legislative compliance across all states and territories and maintenance of Medibank’s self-insurance license with Comcare. This role works across the diverse risk profile of the Medibank group of Companies (Medibank) including Homecare, allied health, retail, telehealth, contact centres and corporate operations.
Your role will lead the refresh and ongoing maintenance of HSW management system; organisation wide reporting and analysis (including preparation of Board level reporting); the HSW audit program including self-insurance audit preparation; and health & safety risk & compliance activities.
You will also have the opportunity to assist in the development and coordination of the Medibank HSW strategy and annual plan, ensuring continuous improvement and striving for industry best practice. You will work closely with the Head of HSW and HSW Business Partners to manage risk and legislative compliance.
You bring extensive experience in a similar role and your experience documenting health and safety management systems and working on the preparation for self-insurance audits using the National Audit Tool (NAT) will be essential in your success. Highly organised in your approach to work, you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working autonomously. You are an excellent communicator and have the ability to engage and influence across all levels of an organisation.
Your approach is human centred, and you enjoy thinking outside the box to reach an outcome. Also key to your success in this role :
• You’ll be savvy with online safety incident management systems and intelligent business reporting tools.
• Have a strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and application in a multi-jurisdictional environment is essential
• Previous experience in preparation of health and safety reports for all levels of the business. Experience in preparation of board level reporting (desirable)
• Ability to hit the ground running and demonstrate project and change management skills across a diverse risk profile
