What you'll be doing
To provide for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff and supporting the clinical placement of students.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and wider hospital team to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs relevant to the specialty, provide clinical supervision at point of care and an ongoing focus on quality and safety.
The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge and recent experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiology, including structural heart and pacing procedures. Experience with non-invasive diagnostic procedures and electrophysiology studies would be an added advantage.
The successful applicant should hold post graduate qualifications in either coronary care or critical care +/- an education qualification e.g. Certificate IV Training and Assessment. Preparation of a short presentation, work samples and a knowledge assessment will form part of the interview process.

Current relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification and/or extensive relevant clinical experience.
Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching in the health care environment utilising adult learning principles.
Demonstrated experience as a clinical facilitator and preceptor.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety frameworks.
