What can you expect?
This role requires the consultant to deliver quality injury prevention, early intervention and return to work strategies to LGIS Scheme members including;
Develop & deliver evidence based injury prevention services to LGIS Scheme members to mitigate workers compensation claims related to Musculoskeletal Disorders.
Manage a case load of Workers compensation claims providing timely and evidence based return to work strategies to LGIS Scheme members (working in conjunction with the Senior Claims Consultants).
Provide advice and support to build capability to improve early intervention (pre & post claim), rehabilitation outcomes and facilitate best practice return to work.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Development of effective Injury Prevention & Management Services as part of the Workcare Services team.
Professional Injury Prevention Service Delivery to Scheme Member Organisations under the Allied Health Program.
Professional Injury Management Service Delivery to Scheme Member Organisations under the Allied Health Program.
Positive member feedback on timely and effective delivery of injury prevention & management services.
Working together with key staff of other business units within LGISWA to ensure all risk financing and management needs of member organisations are met in a co-ordinated manner.
Effective engagement with staff at all levels within member organisations.
Ensure legislative and WorkCover compliance as relevant to self-insurers.
Relevant ongoing professional development and maintaining of accreditations.
We would like you to have:
Ideally you will have three years’ experience in a similar role
Relevant tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in injury prevention & injury management.
Knowledge of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act & Regulations.
Project management skills
Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Advanced presentation and facilitation skills
Computer literacy including skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Outlook
Ability to work under pressure and reliability to ensure deadlines are met through effective time management.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
A current Driver's Licence
Availability to travel intrastate and/or interstate, including overnight stays is required. Some out of hours work will be required from time to time.
