The opportunity

As the Expenses Lead you will play a key role in the accounting, reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for expenses in Group Head Office “GHO”.

The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but not limited to:

Play an important role in the Group Head Office Expenses Forecasting and Budgeting process.

Drive standardisation for the budgeting and forecasting processes across the different systems.

Implement processes, controls and prepare consistent guidance to make our budgeting process more efficient and effective.

Support the end-to-end Group Head Office expenses result, integrating activities sitting within FP&A and FAR.

Play an active role in month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting periods. Complying with Group financial reporting policies and accounting standards, ensuring that reports and commentary are timely, accurate and insightful in order to facilitate key business decisions.

Lead the GSSC team resources to achieve excellent outcomes in our BAU activities, as well as any ad-hoc project.

Support the Group Finance team, including leading, training and coaching other members of the team if required

Your story so far

Qualified in a professional services environment (CPA/CA or equivalent experience is advantageous).

You’ve gained significant, relevant experience in similar finance positions.

Good understanding of period period-close principles and best practices.

Significant experience of managing relationships with internal business customers at senior level.

Demonstrated ability to achieve results and focus on delivering outcomes with high level of accuracy and attention to details.

Demonstrable financial acumen, including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Ability to manage high volume of workloads and effectively prioritize.

Ability to interact with and clearly communicate with a broad range of stakeholders across a variety of functions (actuarial, underwriting, investments, investor relations etc)

Ability to be flexible and agile while working with other Head Office teams or divisions on projects and other ad-hoc tasks.
