We have an exciting opportunity in a newly created role within our Australia Pacific (AUSPAC) Risk team based in Sydney. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, the role will support the development, implementation and oversight of a strategic and comprehensive Privacy Program for the AUSPAC division that defines, develops, maintains, and implements policies and processes to enable consistent and effective privacy practices which minimise risk and ensure QBE meets its privacy obligations.
We are currently working remotely, and you will receive the equipment, access, and technology you require to empower you in your role.
In conjunction with the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, you will support embedding a strategic and comprehensive Privacy Program by:
Developing and embedding effective policies and procedures across AUSPAC to support and enable QBE to discharge its privacy obligations
Enhancing and uplifting privacy competencies across ASUAPC by promoting strong privacy governance, capability, and awareness, including by way of regular communications, updates and training
Together with other members of the Risk team, monitor, analyse and track privacy data breaches, as well as supporting in the response to privacy incidents
Acting as the central contact point and handling of internal and external privacy inquiries, requests for access to, and correction of, personal information as well as providing subject matter expertise support on privacy complaints and initiatives
Working with the Data Governance team to effectively link the work performed by Data Governance into the AUSPAC privacy program
Your story so far
Relevant tertiary qualification(s); legally qualified an advantage
Specialist knowledge of privacy laws in Australia and relevant experience working in a privacy related role
Experience in insurance/financial services would be advantageous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
Experience in regulatory engagement or regulatory liaison
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise to achieve excellent outcomes
