Summary:Experienced Concrete Engineer required at our Benalla Precast facility to coordinate on-site activities in relation to the set up and operation of the Batch plant. Work closely with Quality team to ensure the quality of the product being produced is up to standard.About CPBJH JVCPBJH JV brings together two of Australia's leading construction partners, CPB Contractors and John Holland, with unparalleled expertise in large-scale and complex project management, civil construction, traffic management and tunneling.The West Gate Tunnel is a partnership between the Victorian Government and Transurban. The Joint Venture has been chosen as the contractor for construction, which began in early 2018 following planning assessment. About the ProjectThe West Gate Tunnel Project is a city-shaping project that will deliver a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge, provide quicker and safer journeys, and remove thousands of trucks off residential streets. The project will include: Widening the West Gate Freeway from eight lanes to 12 between the M80 Ring Road and Williamstown Road;Building a 2.8km eastbound tunnel and a 4km westbound tunnel under Yarraville;Constructing a bridge over the Maribyrnong River providing an alternative to the West Gate Bridge;Constructing an elevated road along Footscray Road to the Port of Melbourne;Major new cycling and pedestrian paths. Your new position:Reporting directly to the Precast Operations manager you will monitor day to day activities and provide guidance in relation to production.Your key tasks and responsibilities will include: Working closely with the lab and quality team to ensure concrete consistency.Managing raw materialsTroubleshooting concrete issues and involvement (with quality team) in root cause analysis of non-conformance issuesLiaison with batch plant control system supplier when system changes need to be madeEnsuring daily controls are in place (in conjunction with quality team)Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting.Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes Further to the above your responsibilities will also include: Supporting project leaders to improve business performance through peopleHelp support innovation and organisational changeAssist the HR Manager to create and implement HR initiatives that support the delivery of the Strategic and Annual business plansPeople Management training and coaching for managersProviding HR advice and coaching to office based line managers and project managersEnsuring business compliance with relevant employment and OHS legislation About you:To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and capabilities: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent5-10 years’ post graduate experience with 3+ years site basedIdeally with 3 + years of precast or concrete experience,Project wide level of planning, development and review of complex projectsUnderstanding of VIC Roads specificationsConcrete mix design developmentDelivery of minor projects to program and budget specificationsEffective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource managementAdvanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6
