An exciting opportunity is now available to support a broad national network of multidisciplinary international leaders in women’s health, with a focus on consumer and community involvement in women’s health research and translation.
The WHRTN Consumer & Community Involvement (CCI) Project Manager is an integral member of the team, supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of the WHRTN’s CCI Sub-Committee’s CCI Strategy/Activity Plan. Initially, a one-year contract is offered with appointment at 0.5 EFT (19 hours per week), with the possibility of contract extensions at 0.4EFT for up to 4 years. Based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton (once work from home COVID-19 restrictions ease).

About Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA)The Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) encompasses the ten National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) accredited Advanced Health Research Translation Centres and Centres for Innovation in Regional Health.
AHRA facilitates the integration of healthcare, health and medical research, and health professional education to deliver better health outcomes for all Australians. We engage across 95% of Australia’s academic and research teams, 80% of acute health services and have increasing reach into primary care and regional and rural areas. Our goal is to accelerate the pace and scale of research translation into healthcare by engaging all relevant stakeholders to identify and address unmet needs and by supporting and connecting all phases of the research journey to drive innovation and evidence into practice, as soon as possible. AHRA is leading a national system level initiative across all ten accredited Centres in consumer and community involvement.
About the Women’s Health Research Translation Network WHRTN is a broad national collaboration of multidisciplinary international leaders in women’s health, nominated by NHMRC-accredited Centres nationally. With our broad geographical spread and stakeholder engagement, along with national co-ordination through AHRA, we provide a unique opportunity for rapid priority setting and addressing and advancing delivery in these areas through research and translation. Monash Partners is the administering and leading AHRA Centre in the WHRTN. This position will be situated in the Monash Partners team but will support the national WHRTN.
About the Role
This role will support the WHRTN CCI Sub-Committee to develop, implement and evaluate the CCI Strategy/Activity Plan.
The Key Result Areas comprise:
- Ensure governance is transparent and robust.
- Ensure timelines and deliverables are met, in accordance with funding body’s requirements and that risks are considered and mitigated.
- Ensure effective consumer and stakeholder involvement.
- Ensure effective and efficient support provided to the CCI Sub-Committee.
- Plan and manage events and special initiatives.Support CCI/advocacy activities and optimise communication internally and externally.
- Prepare and disseminate reports to the CCI Sub-Committee and other reports required to meet external funding requirements.
The professional, tertiary qualified candidate we are seeking will be an experienced project manager with proven ability to meet operational and project targets. A track record and knowledge in consumer and community involvement is a mandatory requirement.
Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise, mediate and influence are also essential.
The role requires sound analytical and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
