This position leads quality improvement, service development, practice and redesign activities. This role also provides a consultancy service in nutritional care of clients with kidney disease across WRS and NSW.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial;">Provide specialist nutrition care and further develop, implement and promote renal nutrition based on evidence based practice, particularly those with advanced (stage 4 or 5) chronic kidney disease electing not to undertake renal replacement therapies and those on renal replacement therapies but experiencing a high symptom burden and/or with severe co-morbidities<br /> The Renal Supportive Care Dietitian level 4 will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>High quality, evidenced-based clinical nutritional care of clients with kidney disease</li> <li>High level clinical expertise and knowledge in renal Dietetics</li> <li>Acts as a consultant to all staff across NBMLHD, Western Renal Service (WRS) and NSW in renal nutritional management</li> <li>Work in a multidisciplinary team with regards to management of clients with renal disease.</li> <li>Monitors, reviews and develops relevant clinical nutrition policies and protocols</li> <li>Uses advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement in solving problems and managing clinical cases</li> <li>Operates autonomously with minimal direction</li> <li>Initiates and leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of renal supportive care Dietetic services across NBMLHD</li> <li>Contributes and participates in education activities in the area of renal nutrition across NBMLHD and NSW</li> <li>Supervision of level 1-3 Dietitians across NBMLHD</li> <li>Assists in co-ordination of Dietetic student placements and supervision as required</li> </ul> <p style="font-family: Arial;"><b><u>About Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District</u></b><br /> The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District provides world-class clinical care, research and innovation, and is committed to providing a workplace culture that values and promotes the growth of high performing teams and individuals.
