Located on Melbourne’s Docklands, an opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join their team for an initial 2 month contract. You will be part of a government department that prides itself on it’s strong relationships with their customers, stakeholders and suppliers within the community and industries. This role will include some of the following responsibilities: The accurate and timely preparation entry and transmission of fortnightly payroll data and associated material.Maintaining an up to date knowledge of Awards, Industrial Agreements and statutory/legislative requirements.Providing accurate information to management and staff in a timely manner.Taking care of own and colleagues Health and Safety through identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives. Success in this role will be achieved through extensive experience with end to end payroll, attention to detail, time management and award knowledge, along with high levels of customer service when dealing with stakeholders. Coming from a payroll processing background, you will need to have proven experience and skills in the following: Exceptional working knowledge of Chris21Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislationCompetent skills in working with relevant software packagesExcellent numeracy skills, with the ability to understand routine formulas and calculate payroll matters such as overtime and remuneration package/contract details relevant Awards and how to applyExcellent organisational skills and demonstrated abilities to manage priorities In addition you will need to demonstrate total commitment to the company values including safety, quality, ethics and business controls.
