<div><p><strong>Trade Overseer Food Services/ Laundry – Oberon Correctional Centre</strong></p><p> </p><p>The <a href="https://careers.dcj.nsw.gov.au/">Department of Communities and Justice</a> (DCJ) was formed in 2019 with the merger of two former departments Family and Community Services (FACS) and Justice.</p><p>By combining FACS and Justice, the two former agencies are now able to work together as DCJ to support everyone’s right to access justice, to help families, and to promote early intervention and inclusion, in order to provide benefits for the whole community.</p><p> </p><p>Corrective Services NSW employs trade Overseers, Senior Overseers and Managers in Corrective Services Industries (CSI) providing inmates in correctional centres with vocational training in service and commercial industries to improve their employment opportunities when they are released from custody. Employment is a proven factor in reducing the risk of re-offending.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div><strong>About the role</strong></div><div> <p>As a Trade Overseer, you will supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects and contribute productively to Service/Business Unit objectives.
