Job Description

The role sits within VSBA's Operations & Programs Branch, Delivery Division. This branch is responsible for delivering a range of state-wide maintenance and compliance programs, including Make Safe, Emergency Maintenance, Accessible Buildings, regulatory and compliance, asbestos removal, relocatable buildings, Inclusive Schools and Modular Buildings.Senior Project Officer - Finance (Fixed-term to 31 Dec 2022, full time)The role sits within VSBA's Operations & Programs Branch, Delivery Division. This branch is responsible for delivering a range of state-wide maintenance and compliance programs, including Make Safe, Emergency Maintenance, Accessible Buildings, regulatory and compliance, asbestos removal, relocatable buildings, Inclusive Schools and Modular Buildings.This role sits within the Relocatable Buildings Team, New Buildings Unit. It is a dynamic and fast-paced team environment with a critical delivery milestone for the first day of the school year. The position will oversee the financial management and reporting for the Relocatable Buildings Program The key accountabilities for the position include: Demonstrated capacity to oversee financial information and reporting systems with a particular emphasis on the analysis of financial data;Ability to support the continuous monitoring and oversight activities over financial information and be able to identify anomalies, fraud or any areas of risk;Experience in performing monthly, quarterly and yearly analytical reviews of financial information with the ability to document work completed and findings, explanations and potential financial adjustments to be recommended to be completed ;Experience in preparing audit evidence files and liaising with external auditors ;Experience in using auditing and compliance tools to support monitoring and oversight activities over financial information ;Experience using iTWOCX, AIMS and Oracle financials or similar finance systemsLeading and supporting a small team of project officers The ideal candidate will have a background in finance and reporting within program delivery within the building industry.
