DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate and oversee all underground drilling activities.Maintain the drilling schedule, design and implement drilling programmes.Manage the drilling contract and contractors.Supervise and mentor Junior Geologists and Field staff.Ensure all logging is completed on a daily basis.Monitor sample and assay quality, follow up QAQC issues.Liaise with Regional Exploration, Resource Geologists, Metallurgists and Engineers.Assist the Mine Geology Team as required.Report all activities on a daily, weekly and monthly time period.SafetyRig audits on arrival, task observations every swing.Present fit for work to all shifts.All jobs to be performed in a safe manner.Procedures will need to be reviewed and modified as required.Display a clear commitment to safety and health, and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.Operate in accordance with and comply the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes.Active participation in all communication and awareness systems. EnvironmentalEnsure all diesel/oil spills are reported and removed to the designated disposal area.Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environment Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.Minimises waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE PROFILE Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geology, preferably with a post graduate qualification, eg. Honors.Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence. Desired Experience & CompetenciesMinimum 3 years relevant experience in the mining industry.Experience in a production role and resource modelling highly regarded.Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Vulcan, Logging software, GIS packages.Good written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks.Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.If this sounds like you then please email your resume to email@example.com or call 08 6268 0345
