Senior leadership role within Swinburne University Full time position at our Hawthorn campus Attractive salary and benefits About the Job The Director, Trades and Engineering Technologies leads and manages the educational and business activities for the department within Swinburne’s Pathways and Vocational Education (PAVE). In consultation with the General Manager, Education (PAVE), the Director will significantly contribute to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, high quality education programs within the Department of Trades and Engineering Technologies, aligned with Swinburne’s 2025 strategic direction. About you To be suitable for the role you will be a highly experienced leader with demonstrated practice in leading larger teams and working collaboratively with leaders and key stakeholders across a tertiary institution to achieve outcomes. Additionally, you will posess a proven record in devising and implementing innovative approaches to teaching and learning, including the application of new technologies. Key Responsibilities: • Contribute to the development of innovative, high quality training programs and delivery models; for local and international markets that meet the needs of industry and the community, in accord with government and University requirements. • Implement, monitor and adapt agreed initiatives in the broad areas of teaching and learning within PAVE and promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. • Work collaboratively with the other Directors to achieve effective and efficient outcomes for teaching, course development, delivery and use of resources. • Contribute to the advancement of co-operation between PAVE and Higher Education • Develop and maintain appropriate networks and strategic partnerships within the TAFE sector to ensure a focus on continuous improvement of vocational education program development and initiatives.
