About us The Commercial Services Division provides the Corrections and Justice Services Group with expert financial, commercial and performance advisory services and leads the group's engagement with other parts of DJCS on matters including finance, infrastructure, technology and data analysis.Contracts and Infrastructure Branch are responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, as well as the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections and Justice Services' prisons and related infrastructure. This includes the development and implementation of all required systems and policies to sustain this diverse asset portfolio. The management of major contracts including private prisons, oversight of major contracts and contract management of a significant number of the group's contracts are a core function of the Branch. It also represents the group's interest on infrastructure and construction projects to ensure the best possible outcomes for stakeholders and commercial partners.About the roleThe Senior Contract Officer provides leadership and sound contract management advice with a strong focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement across key operational contracted services. The role will work across various contracts and will provide advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation, department policies and contractual terms by contracted service providers through the delivery of best practice contract administration.The role will involve regular travel to prison locations and other sites where contracted services are being delivered and may require overnight travel.Some of your duties will include: Provide leadership in the management of CV's contract obligations for the effective operation of the contract management framework by actively planning and contributing to contract service negotiations, compliance and performance reviews and procurement activities.Proactively build and maintain strategic and collaborative relationships with departmental business units, the Contractor and other key stakeholders, to create a shared commitment to the delivery of initiatives and identified priorities.Develop written documentation in relation to expert advice, briefings and other critical documentation on contractual and operational issues to senior management, including the Commissioner, Secretary and Ministers. About youTo be successful you will have: Demonstrated experience in the management of contract monitoring services that deliver effective business solutions.Experience in contract administration and comprehensive understanding of Public Private Partnerships. There are no mandatory qualifications for this role however, qualifications in contract administration and or Correctional experience as well as extensive knowledge of TRIM would be highly regarded.
