Job Description

Understanding the real risks that climate change poses to a business and developing pragmatic programs to manage and mitigate those risks is one of the most complex issues businesses face today.As part of our continued growth, ERM has an opportunity for an experienced leader to join our global consulting firm as a Partner leading our Climate Change business offering in Australia.We are seeking a leader who is interested in being an integral part of this well established and thriving community, and to contribute to our continued commercial and business success through collaboration with a well-organised and focused multi-disciplinary team of professionals.More specifically we are looking for an outstanding professional who combines strong consulting, technical, delivery and client skills to help ERM foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships by driving outcomes that create tangible value for our valued clients. In so doing, the successful candidate will need strengths in strategic and technical consulting/leadership, delivery of complex client challenges, and direct client engagement/support with the goal of strengthening the partnership we are building with a number of our key client accounts.The role includes collaboration with ERM’s Account Directors to develop and implement account strategies, sales, delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients, and playing a key role in growing ERM’s Climate Change Advisory business across its broad portfolio of clients and service offerings.Lead the growth and development of ERM’s Climate Change Advisory service areaBuild, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibilityCollaborate with colleagues across the globe.As Partner-in-Charge, lead and manage projects to deliver exceptional services to our clientsWork in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s business, as well as to lead client and technical teamsMeet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction / expectations, and internal and contract requirementsPartner with Account Directors to actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy:Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organisations, raising the profile of ERM’s capabilities within key client organisations, to identify and shape clients’ needs for ERM servicesDevelop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritise sales efforts toward high potential, top opportunities.Manage capture efforts utilising technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.Qualifications:BS in management, accounting, economics, engineering, geology, science, or related discipline required (advanced degree preferred)15+ years’ experience in a consulting environment in Environment / Sustainability.In-depth understanding of Climate Change challenges including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.Strong commitment to safety, including experience implementing strict Health and Safety protocols on projectsBusiness acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognise corporate opportunitiesDemonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.Who Are We: About ERM Australia and New ZealandFor nearly 50 years we have been working with clients around the world and in diverse industry sectors to help them to understand and manage their environmental, health, safety, risk and social impacts.The key sectors we serve include oil & gas, mining & metals, power, manufacturing & pharmaceutical, chemical, and technology, media & telecommunications.
