Job Description

The OpportunityFixed term appointment to June 2022, potential for extension$108,856 - $122,649 + 17% superannuationWFH and UNSW CampusWorking closely with the Director, UNSW Alliances, the Manager, International Universities Climate Alliance (IUCA) Secretariat is responsible for overall management and oversight of operations and will play a key role in achieving the vision of the Climate Alliance. The role will make a significant contribution to the development of IUCA’s business plan, membership management, communications and engagement plan, ensuring alignment with overarching objectives and will be responsible for implementing the agreed plans.The Manager will play a key role in driving awareness of the Climate Alliance globally and will establish systems to manage, monitor and measure the success and impact of the Alliance.As the vision of the Climate Alliance is to be a globally trusted source of information on climate change issues, the Manager will have major responsibility for managing communications through a variety of channels and will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant staff at the member Universities.This position reports to the Director, UNSW Alliances and works closely with senior stakeholders across the member universities.The OrganisationThe International Universities Climate Alliance brings together leading universities across the globe and provides a central hub for its members to share the latest climate research with the public and enable greater collaboration between leading research teams, supporting global leaders, policy makers and industry in planning for and responding to climate change. The Climate Alliance facilitates knowledge sharing and best practice approaches allowing our members to establish a global perspective on localised challenges and support global efforts to lower carbon emissions and increase the rate of climate action.About the successful applicant: You have a tertiary qualification in a related field, with extensive management and stakeholder engagement expertise or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience, as well as: Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrable track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful organisational outcomes.Proven track record in management and demonstrated ability to facilitate the implementation of initiatives, programs and strategies across diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice, operational support, and to influence as appropriate, to ensure successful outcomes.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills with a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters. • High level organisational skills with attention to detail and proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.Demonstrated and extensive ability to write high quality communications and to tailor writing style for different audiences, including experience using social and digital media to reach and engage target audiences. Extensive experience editing copy written by others to ensure a publication, print or online, is of a standard that meets editorial requirements and strategic objectives.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
