We are looking for a hard-working, reliable candidate to cover a Maternity Cover for approx, months fixed term Contract, with a possibility of an extention.

Job Description
Assists in the breeding and maintenance of animal colonies by carrying out routine tasks and following straightforward instructions to meet the operational and customer service needs of the Animal Resources Centre.

Selection Criteria
Undertakes the responsibilities of the position in accordance with ARC’s policies and in accordance with procedures laid down in the ARC Operating Procedures Manual.

TECHNICAL DUTIES:

. Carry out animal husbandry tasks as required.
. Accurately prepare, process, and deliver customer orders and requests.
. Use technology and equipment effectively in daily duties.
. Accurately record data manually and electronically.
. Liaison with internal customers as required.

GENERAL DUTIES:
. Carry out all procedures and duties in accordance with the values of the workplace and the code of behavior.
. Undertake training and professional development program.
. Ability to work well in a small collaborative team and independently when required.
. Other duties as required.

• Remain focussed, calm and accurate under pressure.
• Manage time effectively to complete tasks.
• Present a positive approach and image.

Desirable:

Interest in, and some knowledge of, animal or laboratory animal breeding and maintenance procedures.

Computer literacy eg email, MS Office or similar

Reliable, Enthusiastic, Hard Working and Motivated
