Department of Education Independent Public School - Mid West Education Region Geraldton Primary School Teacher - Music 00006406 Teacher, $72,137 - $107,049 per annum (SEA GA 2019) Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH661831This is a nine (9) month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021 with possible extension twelve (12) months and/or permanencyGeraldton Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Primary Music Teacher to join their school.The successful applicant should be highly motivated, innovative and have the positive interpersonal qualities of teachers who are able to work collaboratively in a team environment.As a valuable member of the teaching staff, the successful applicant would be responsible for the educational outcomes of the school's music curriculum. We are seeking applicants who have the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students.The successful applicant must utilise innovative classroom practice informed by current trends, research and system initiatives. You will be able to competently incorporate current programs of teaching established Junior and Senior Choirs, teaching and coordinating live choir performances including choral and percussion work at assemblies and other events and utilising Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to create and showcase music.It is highly desirable, that the successful applicant will contribute to the team and build and maintain partnerships with colleagues and the wider community with music and performance opportunities. You will be able to liaise and collaborate with Instrumental Music School Services, feeder high schools and the Midwest Music Network to support whole school and community performance events. The successful applicant will be able to use a variety of assessment tools and tasks to accurately assess levels of student competency.It is highly desirable that the successful applicant will have teaching knowledge of and/or experience in teaching music using Orff Schulwerk or Kodaly methods.This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
