Job Description

The Role:The Social Media Editor will plan, implement and monitor CTM’s social media strategy. Working within the Communications team, you will help CTM become a destination for personal finance content that informs, educates and entertains audiences across all the major platforms. Like our meerkats, we’re looking for someone who is the perfect balance of creativity, quirkiness and sophistication. Ideally, you’ll have at least five years in a newsroom with a work history in writing and communicating complex financial matters for a general audience. We are looking for someone who can slot into a high-performance team as a creative collaborator, peer and channel lead. You will be familiar with all the latest technology in the sphere and be a self-starter who is comfortable and confident in defining their own role. CTM celebrates innovation and out-of-the-box thinking and we are proud to put the consumer at the heart of everything we do. Their needs and requirements trump all other considerations in our business. Suited to both a ‘thinker’ and a ‘doer’, this role is the perfect balance of strategy and execution and will suit anyone who enjoys the thrill of seeing ideas through to completion. This position has the potential to be 100% remote, and welcome applicants Australia wide. Accountabilities Lead our Social Media activities with responsibility for planning, implementing and monitoring the Social Media strategy in lockstep with our Content Editor ensuring that content across all our channels has a consistent vibe and focus; Contribute to and develop processes, systems, frameworks, protocol and other operating standards within the social sphere; Champion initiatives, ideas and concepts and foster a culture of continuous ideas within the wider team; Come up with new and entertaining ways to introduce money saving tips to a broad audience; Communicate the value of the brand through every conceivable social media channel with regard to the specific requirements and challenges of each; Manage day-to-day delivery; Provide insights back to the broader business; Participate in brand positioning in concert with the broader marketing and communications team; Manage and deliver team performance within CTM’s framework for continuous improvement, effectiveness and executional excellence. Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience working in the media creating engaging content; Online writers with a news and current affairs background (especially in business, economics and finance) are encouraged to apply; 5+ years’ experience working in the media; A social media footprint either professional or personal that demonstrates your understanding, interest in and experience of the craft; and Experience in writing/creating innovative, engaging and informative social posts.
