The Opportunity As part of the evolving Transport program, we have an opportunity for a Senior Manager – Network Development. The position provides high-level leadership of integrated network plans to ensure alignment of transport policy, services and infrastructure to inform network improvement priorities. The primary purpose of the role is to lead the effective and efficient delivery of a range of transport planning projects, and the proactive management of strong stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration across community, industry and all levels of government to support the achievement of NSW government objectives. The role works across multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams delivering Place based planning within the Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) area, integrated network planning, strategic land use assessment, providing advice and leading the identification and needs definition for minor and major projects and initiatives across the TfNSW ROM network aligning with the direction set by Future Transport 2056 and 10 Year Blueprint. This position can be based anywhere in NSW, however preference is within the Regional & Outer Metropolitan areas. Key accountabilities You will lead the development of integrated network plans to guide and inform network improvement priorities across ROM, engaging with your team to manage a program of transport planning projects and subsequent allocation of projects, ensuring each project has the right resources, and that the multi-disciplinary transport planning team works effectively with matrixed specialist teams to deliver high quality work on time, within scope and within budget. Provide leadership, advice, direction and project management to the development and delivery of programs and strategic concept proposals and guidance, Transport strategies, plans, studies, and strategic business cases, aligned to a specific NSW geographic area, integrated network or major project, and all phases of strategic land use assessment, fostering an evidence based planning culture to guide investment in operational and infrastructure solutions across the transport system. Provide proactive and timely advice and critical analysis on transport related issues to senior and executive management and coordinate and communicate recommended actions in order to mitigate potential risks and ensure transport planning is informed by robust analysis and transport Cluster consultation to meet Future Transport outcomes. Lead the proactive engagement with key stakeholders across the transport cluster and NSW government agencies, and manage stakeholder communications, representing the branch in project control groups, committees and working groups and external advisory committees. About you You will be an experienced senior leader of teams and functions in the planning and analysis of integrated infrastructure development, with expertise in the transport planning related field, working across multiple Government agencies involved in multimodal transport planning and statutory processes. You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications, including post graduate qualifications or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience in planning and/or programs, demonstrating a strong interest in global best practice, innovation and subsequent implementation experience. Knowledge and understanding of transport management and planning with the ability to understand technical issues at a strategic level, contextualising and seeing the broader network. You will efficiently manage the re-prioritisation of projects and allocation of work to team members, minimising disruption to the team, while delivering high quality transport planning and advice that is relevant to current and emerging best practice, government policy and statutory requirements. A collaborator able to work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex multi-disciplinary issues while meeting delivery commitments who is ideally based in the ROM region.
