About the OpportunityThe Senior Advisor, Corporate Strategy, Planning and Performance provides leadership across the Department of Transport (DoT) and its agencies to support delivery of an integrated planning and performance reporting framework to ensure oversight of the department's strategic direction. The Senior Advisor will partner with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver an innovative work program that enables achievement of a better transport system. Key Accountabilities: Contribute to the development and delivery of a DoT strategic plan and year-round annual business planning processes for the department and portfolio agencies, in partnership with other enabling functions.Manage components of the operation of the DoT planning and performance reporting framework.Apply continuous improvement to identify and respond to issues, risks and department and government objectives and community expectations in relation to strategy, planning and performance. Support annual reporting processes as needed for the department and portfolio agencies.Maintain stakeholder relationships with key people throughout the department and the portfolio to ensure a deep and comprehensive understanding of planning and performance goals, and activities.Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements. About you: Knowledge of or experience in strategic planning and business planning processes, including change management skills.Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; Uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems; Has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Prepares complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; Ensures communications contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs; Confidently conveys ideas and information in a clear and interesting way.Proven experience in leading, engaging, negotiating with and influencing a range of external and internal stakeholders to contribute to plans and to understand the purpose of plans and statutory reports and strategies to shape organisational activities.Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required; Identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal; Establishes systems and procedures to guide work and track progress.Proactive and self-starting; Able to act independently and with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities for a diverse range of projects where resources, objectives and methods are not well defined. Desirable A relevant tertiary qualification would be well regarded.
