The Division The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. The Opportunity As part of the evolving Transport program, we have three opportunities to lead the provision of understanding transport connectivity for rural and outer metropolitan cities and communities: three each in each of our West, North and South regions (other regions advertised separately). These frontline management roles will be critical to ensuring the transport needs of those communities are well understood and integrated with surrounding areas, and consistent with the overall transport and government objectives. Each of the Senior Manager - Community & Place Partners will lead a local team working with regional New South Wales communities to understand the unique transport needs of each locality. The teams will partner with communities and engage with diverse stakeholders including local government, resident groups, local businesses, and broader community groups to build a complex picture of local transport needs that to be translated into optimal transport solutions. Key accountabilities Provide assured and inspiring leadership to geographically dispersed regional teams accountable for identifying and capturing community needs through analysis of customer and community insights and trends. Act as the central point and interface for planning and programs in respect to managing the process for developing network, service and asset management plans including usage and operation. Collaborate with other regional Transport for NSW teams to deliver regional community programs and transport solutions, including the management of safety and traffic investigations to support safety related improvements to the network and the rectification of community concerns and issues. About you In order to effectively manage community partnering for Transport for NSW, each of the Senior Manager – Community & Place Partners will need to possess strong leadership skills to establish productive and collaborative work cultures, drawing together these new teams towards a common purpose of serving the transport needs of regional communities. You will be an experienced people leader, preferably familiar with the workings of Government at any level and/or with experience drawn from the transport or infrastructure fields. You will be a natural relationship builder who is comfortable interacting with numerous community stakeholders with differing transport needs and ideas, able to assist in prioritising transport solutions to maximise community benefit. Additionally you will be: A collaborator able to work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex multi-disciplinary issues while meeting delivery commitments who is ideally based in your respective region. Be communicative and be able to articulate complex concepts and provide compelling arguments and rationales to a highly diverse audience combined with a commitment to customer –focused service and building a culture that supports this.
