Moving millions of people needs the skill and commitment of a talented workforce.The RoleAn exciting new opportunity has arisen within the PTA in the position of Environmental Manager. This position sits within the Infrastructure Planning and Land Services (IP&LS) Division and is responsible for managing and leading the provision of environmental, sustainability and Aboriginal heritage services across the PTA. The incumbent will also ensure currency of knowledge, provision of advice and establishment of practices, in conformance with environmental legislation and best practice. The successful candidate will plan and manage the Environment Branch’s activities and resources to achieve divisional and corporate objectives with respect to environmental, Aboriginal heritage and sustainability management.To be considered for this position you will need:

Relevant technical expertise including possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management or related discipline;

Extensive knowledge and experience in scientific, technical and environmental issues, in the interpretation and application of environmental regulations and legislation as they affect transport infrastructure projects, and the principles and requirements of the Australian Standard AS/NZS Environmental Management Systems;

Strong Leadership and Management skills, including a demonstrated ability to empower, motivate and develop staff; steer and implement change; think strategically and provide clear direction and advice to colleagues, staff and senior management.
