the role You will coordinate and facilitate the development and implementation of Local Laws, Subordinate Local Laws and Policy, and oversees advising regarding many other corporate governance issues including (but not limited to) Councillor complaints, legislative compliance, delegations, conflicts of interest and training for Councillors The salary range for this position is $85,502.16 - $91,207.72 gross per annum plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation. Excellent organisational skills including the ability to contribute to the management of a section and undertake a range of functions. Knowledge and appreciation of the long-term goals of Council. The ability to understand and implement effective human resource management practices including demonstrated skills in resolving organisational issues, negotiating contracts and developing and motivating subordinate employees. Excellent oral and written communication and numeracy skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate and negotiate agreed actions and outcomes with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to provide pro-active and expert timely advice to various stakeholders. Demonstrated skills in the operation computer applications. Comprehensive knowledge of Council policies and statutory requirements relevant to the work area. Understanding of and Commitment to Council's Organisational Value and Behaviour of "Accountability".
