The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Noarlunga SA are looking for new volunteers to help bring HOPE where it’s needed most. Bring your passion and experience to support your community by volunteering just a few days per week as a Retail Manager in one of our stores.The Salvation Army Stores are a vibrant place where great things happen: Generous people donate amazing items, customers enjoy an ever-changing selection of goods, volunteers gain friendships and share experiences, all whilst raising much-needed funds to assist the most vulnerable in your community. You can be a part of this by volunteering a few days per week as a Retail Manager helping with sales, merchandising and quality control. This role reports to the Corps Officer.A typical day as a retail manager will see you leading your team and attending to customer needs whilst sorting donated goods and maintaining a welcoming environment, and directing and supporting your team to contribute to a positive in-store experience. Your attention to detail and a desire for order and sparkle will be assets in this role as will your upbeat and friendly attitude. The Volunteer Retail Manager oversees and leads the operations of the store and is responsible for fostering a culture of inclusiveness and community spirit amongst the team. The Volunteer Retail Manager is the conduit between store operations and Corps, keeping both the Retail team and Corps Officers informed of all activity in the store.The successful candidate will be supported with induction and training to succeed in the role.We encourage you attach your resume to your expression of interest so we can get to know you better.A role profile for this position is available upon request and will also be provided to the successful applicant during the interview process.****IMPORTANT:** We kindly request that you provide a brief outline of your relevant experience, as well as your availability in the application comments section. Due to limited resources, we can only respond to applicants who have provided this information.ABOUT YOU- 3-5 years relevant retail experience.- 1 or more years retail management experience preferred.ABOUT THE ROLE- Achieve budget within designated store, and benchmarks for sorting/production, stock rotation and staffing.- Provide training, guidance, direction and feedback to all workers, raising serious staff issues to the your Manager.- Complete rosters and authorise timesheets.- Effectively manage volunteers, community work and correctional services participants in accordance with policy and procedure.- Manage in-store marketing activities and promotions as directed, ensuring visual merchandising and display of stock is in accordance with policy and procedure.- Complete required administrative duties within required timeframes.- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Site Security, Health and Safety, Point of Sale Operation, House Keeping and Monthly Stock Take.The ability to work within and support the mission and values of The Salvation Army is essential, as is a positive attitude and willingness to provide and environment where customers and volunteers alike are treated with dignity and respect.The Salvation Army values its workforce and provides an inclusive work environment, embracing the diverse talent of its people.The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation that is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of children and young people, and protecting them from harm.
