You bring a minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience treating adult patients in an Emergency Department, Surgical or Medical Ward, Day Surgery Unit, Adult Acute Rural Hospital or Acute Outpatient Ward. From these experiences you have fostered a strong professional, respectful and warm persona with an ability to triage and treat under pressure whilst delivering the highest standard of patient care. About the Role Located on-base at Simpson Barracks in Yallambie, Melbourne, you will be responsible for providing quality clinical care to Australian Defence Force members in the newly developed Health Centre, which features a 24/7 inpatient ward. Similar to a GP clinic environment, you will triage patients, develop and maintain patient care plans, liaise with the healthcare team to provide co-ordinated patient management, provide assessment of patients and co-ordinate outpatient and inpatient treatments. To be successful in this role, you will have: the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour 2 years full-time Post Graduate experience (within the past 5 years) in an acute healthcare setting current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) demonstrated experience and competency with or without a qualification in venepuncture and cannulation availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster. About Simpson Health Centre Simpson Barracks (formerly Watsonia Army Camp in the suburb of Yallambie) is a 55-acre defence base, located 18km northeast of Melbourne’s CBD. Simpson Health Centre provides primary health care services to units based within Simpson Barracks and the outer Eastern Melbourne area. The Health Centre boasts a 24/7, 12-bed inpatient ward and a pharmacy, along with mental health and psychology, physiotherapy and dental services.
