As a key member of the Fonterra Supply Chain team, you will be reporting to the National Fleet & Equipment Manager managing a diverse fleet of assets including milk collection trucks, light vehicles and manual handling equipment. With a proactive approach you will manage the national fleet and equipment assets for Fonterra Australia delivering the business’ requirements in terms of product, delivery and service whilst managing to commercial targets. This role provides true stretch and exposure whilst managing a large and varied fleet including 60 milk collection trucks, over 100 forklifts and around 150 cars. While managing the relationships with our maintenance and service providers you will ensure a safe and compliant fleet at all times. Covering a large and regionally based fleet you will be comfortable travelling on a regular basis.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Management - manage operating expenses closely with respect to budget and forecasts
Continuous Improvement - encouraging initiatives that drive improvements in all fleet and assets
Customer Focus - continuously improve our service levels to customers/suppliers at a reduced cost
Operational Excellence - manage 3rd party service provider relationships to ensure safety and service goals are met
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this varied role, you will be a proactive self-starter who likes to work independently and can easily build trusting relationships across a varied group of stakeholders. You manage and react to change with ease and stay in control when things do not go to plan. Your strong operational fleet management expertise and technical industry experience will get you up to speed in no time and will help you build credibility across your group of stakeholders. Ideally you have worked in a large and complex business managing a variety of service and maintenance providers.
